How to arrange group of images or posters on a page or post

The Gallery block allows you to easily add multiple photos and have them automatically arranged in an attractive way.

To add a Gallery block, use the Add Block button, or you can type /gallery and press enter.

Adding Images

When you add a Gallery block, you’re given two options, Upload and Select Images.

Upload allows you to upload a new image or multiple images from your computer to your website.

Select Images lets you choose from previously uploaded images in your Media Library, or choose from Google Photos or the Pexels Free Photo library.

Captions

Once you’ve uploaded your images or have chosen them from your Media Library, you can caption each image:

If you have written captions for images in the Media library and then add the Gallery block, the Gallery block will show the captions you wrote. However, if you add captions to the images in the Media library after adding the Gallery block, those captions will not appear in the Gallery block. In that case, you can either type the captions manually on the Gallery block or remove and re-add the block so that it will use the captions from the Media library.

Alignment

There is a toolbar that appears when you select the block, and which will let you select alignment options for the block. You can align left, center, or right. When using the left and right alignment options, you can add another block alongside the Gallery block.

Edit Gallery

Use the Edit Gallery button, which looks like a pencil, if you want to add or remove images, or edit a caption in your gallery. It is also possible to do these things in the block itself.

Reordering Images

The images are added to the Gallery in the order that you select them when in Edit Gallery. You’ll notice a number next to each image when you select it. This number indicates what order the image will appear in your Gallery block.

You can also reorder the gallery images after you have created the gallery. To do this, click on any gallery image and use the left/right arrows to reorder the images.
